“Go Electric!” Event planned for Sept. 5: Replacing direct fossil fuel use with electricity in a way that reduces overall emissions and energy costs holds significant potential benefits for Wisconsin customers, utilities and environmental advocates alike. The Customers First! Coalition is hosting a “Power Lunch” event to highlight the benefits of “efficient electrification.” MEUW members are invited and encouraged to attend. Public Service Commission Chairperson Lon Roberts is among those scheduled to speak.
The event is on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with the program running from Noon to 2 p.m. Following the program, Wisconsin Clean Cities will be hosting an electric vehicle “Ride & Drive” outside the Concourse.
To get your ticket for the event, please visit the event site.
MEUW is a founding member of the Customers First! Coalition, which was formed in the late 1990s and continues to advocate for an efficient and effective regulatory environment that provides safe and reliable electricity at fair and reasonable rates for all customers.
District Dinners planned for October and November: Getting members together for dinner and networking is a time-honored MEUW tradition, and the schedule for this year’s District Dinners is now finalized. Eight dinners are planned across the state. MEUW members are encouraged to bring commission or council members and attend whichever one is most convenient (whether it is in their district or not). It’s a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from the public power community and to hear the latest happenings with MEUW and the industry.
Here are the details about this year’s District Dinners:
- Wednesday, Oct. 10 – Machut’s Supper Club, Two Rivers (District 4)
- Wednesday, Oct. 17 – Badger Crossing Pub, Cashton (District 5)
- Tuesday, Oct. 23 – Hi-Way Harry’s, Johnson Creek (Districts 7, 9 and 10)
- Thursday, Nov. 1 – Woodlands Supper Club, Gresham (District 3)
- Tuesday, Nov. 6 – Reedsburg Country Club (District 6)

- Wednesday, Nov. 14 – Skyline Golf Course, Black River Falls (District 2)
- Thursday, Nov. 15 – Red’s Supper Club, Cuba City (District 8)
Each dinner begins with a cash bar at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30, followed by a brief program. The cost for the dinner will be approximately $20 to $25 per person, depending upon location, menu and final number of attendees. MEUW will bill the utility for the dinner after each event take place.
To register, please visit MEUW’s Website, click on “Events” and choose the correct date/location from the Events Calendar. Registration closes one week prior to each of the District Dinners. Mark your calendar and make plans to join us for one of this year’s dinners.
