Updated Statistical Data now available: Wisconsin’s 81 municipal electric utilities served more than 318,000 customers, had nearly $818 million in revenues and paid their municipalities more than $21 million in lieu of taxes during 2025. Those are a few highlights from the updated statistical data MEUW has compiled based on recent reporting to the Public Service Commission. You can access the complete data sheet here. Associate Membership renewal and Expo registration begins Sept. 1: Current Associate Members are reminded to watch for an email Sept. 1 with details about 2026 – 2027 Associate Membership renewal. As in years past, renewing members will have the option to also register for our 2027 Electric Operations Conference & Expo at that time – giving current members priority access before early registration for new and lapsed members starts Oct. 1. Associate Members are also invited to submit ideas they can present to conference attendees during a large-group general session (30 minutes or less) during the January 13 – 14, 2027, Electric Operations Conference. This is an opportunity to showcase a project or share important insights by presenting information about a compelling and relevant topic of interested to leaders in utility operations. Public Power Week is Oct. 5–9: Public power utilities across the U.S., including the 81 operating in Wisconsin, celebrate Public Power Week the first full week of October every year to help customers and stakeholders understand how they can better engage with their community-owned utility and benefit from all its offerings. MEUW member utilities have access to sample resources and templates to spread the word and help celebrate in their hometowns.
