PSC Annual Report filing due Tuesday: A reminder that the filing deadline for the 2020 PSC Annual Reports is Tuesday, June 1. The Public Service Commission extended this year’s deadline to provide utilities with ample time to provide new workforce diversity data (the usual deadline is April 1). Those with questions about the annual reporting process are encouraged to reference the WEGS Help Document or call the PSC’s Annual Report Help Desk at (608) 267-0699.
Sign up now for next week’s Management Training Program: Leadership and team building are the topics for the next session in MEUW’s Management Training Program – scheduled as an in-person training on Wednesday, June 2, in Wisconsin Dells. The one-day session will be led by Jeff Russell, a professional trainer specializing in the origins of organizational challenges. Among the information to be covered are the differences between leading effectively and managing well, managing conflict, and empowering a team through delegation. Complete details about the subject matter and a biography of the instructor are available here.
MEUW’s annual Wage & Benefits Survey kicks off next week: Every year, MEUW collects information about the pay and perks provided to public power employees across the state. We know that many members rely on the information for their planning and budgeting. In fact, 85% of those who responded to a survey last year said it was “extremely important” or “very important” for MEUW to coordinate the annual W&B survey. This year’s data collection will happen in the month of June and will be done online.
Formstack, the web-based tool used for last year’s data collection, will be used again this year. Formstack provides flexibility to save and re-start at anytime while the system is open for data collection. The tool also has built-in logic that helps to decrease the number of questions that need to be answered.
The link to the data-collection site will be emailed to key contacts at each utility next week. Replies are requested by June 30. As a reminder, only the utilities that provide information for the survey will receive a copy of the results. Last year, 67 of 80 eligible utilities (84%) responded.
