Registration for Electric Operations Conference & Expo is now open! MEUW and the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association (WECA) are again organizing the annual Electric Operations Conference & Expo. EOCE26 will take place at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells on Jan. 14 and 15. Municipal utility employees at all levels are welcome and encouraged to attend the event, which features plenty of time to network and a full agenda with a great lineup of speakers on an array of important and relevant topics.
Three types of registration passes — labeled as Kilowatt, Megawatt, and Gigawatt — are available to accommodate those who wish to attend only part of the two-day event. Those most interested in the Expo (trade show), for example, will want to purchase a Megawatt pass, which offers access to the Wednesday evening Welcome Reception and Thursday’s conference sessions, meals, and the Expo. MEUW members who register by Dec. 1 can get a Megawatt pass for $225.
Full details about the event — including a link to reserve your hotel room at a special rate, and information about the Apprentice Graduation Banquet — are available here.
Service territory forum scheduled for next week: MEUW is hosting a Service Territory Symposium on Monday, Oct. 27, to discuss member experiences involving service-territory disputes and actions the association can take to help extend and protect municipal utility boundaries. While some members have developed territorial agreements with neighboring utilities, others face periodic and ongoing conflicts over the right to serve. As municipalities grow, so have the number of disputes, even over areas that fall within municipal limits. The Symposium will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Stevens Point Convention Center. There is no cost to attend, but prior registration is required. Please use this online registration link and sign-up before the deadline on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Finish the year focused on your professional development: Learn to Lead With Consistency, understanding why why consistency is essential to being an effective utility leader. Participants will take away practical ideas they can apply to become a consistent leader and learn how consistency can help to inspire people to work toward a common goal. Part of MEUW’s professional development programming, full details about the instructor and what you’ll learn are located here. Give a gift to yourself and register today!
Send us your job postings: Remember that MEUW welcomes the opportunity to help you attract qualified applicants to your utility’s job openings. In fact, we know our “Employment” page is among the most visited pages on MEUW.org!
Send your open job postings to office@meuw.org whenever they become available. We will post your position and publicize it in the next issue of Live Lines (if the position is not filled prior to its monthly publication date).
