One last chance to participate in Wage & Benefits Survey: The data collected for MEUW’s 2019 Wage & Benefits Survey was compiled in a spreadsheet that was distributed on Aug. 12. Only the utilities that provided information for the survey received a copy of the results, which were sent to the email address of the person who submitted the data. We’ve heard from a few utilities that missed the deadline and now want to get in. So, we’re going to collect the additional data and re-issue the results file early next month. If you’d like your utility to be included, please click here, follow the instructions and submit the spreadsheet no later than Friday, Aug. 30.
There’s still time to register for September’s Hotline School: MEUW’s Electric Utility Safety and Training Coordinator Randy Larson is leading a two-day, hands-on training session offering simulations of hotline field operations and safety procedures next month. The September issue of Live Lines will be sent on Tuesday, Sept. 3, so we will not distribute MEUW Weekly next week. Watch your in-box for a new edition on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Share information about how your utility handles accounting and customer service: Every member utility is being asked to complete a census survey to share insights about their accounting and customer service practices. The survey seeks to gather information about systems and vendors used by municipal electric utilities as well as data about deposits and disconnection thresholds, credit card fees, and the like. The results will be compiled and shared at the Accounting and Customer Service Seminar in September. The last time MEUW gathered this information was in 2013. To share insights about your utility’s practices, please complete the survey here.
Start spreading the news: We’d like to share your utility’s news with other MEUW members. Please take time to let us know about new hires, promotions, retirements, honors and awards. Simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will review and include it in our member communications.
